Privacy Policy

At Fukuoka International Academy (hereafter FIA) our Japanese Language Educational Institute, we realize the utmost importance of the privacy of personal information; all FIA faculty members protect their students’ privacy in a strict and appropriate manner in order to fulfill our corporate and social responsibility.

Defining Personal Information

Personal information that FIA handles are: information of FIA students and their guarantor, parents or guardians, FIA applicants and their guarantor, parents or guardians, FIA alumni, course information, and all trainees and FIA employees data and information. The term “personal information” as used herein refers to such as names, dates of birth and other provided information used to identify specific individual/individuals.

Fair and Appropriate Acquisition of Personal Information

Within all extents necessary for performing a particular task, FIA acquires personal information only in fair and appropriate methods.

Utilization and Appropriate Acquisition of Personal Information

FIA will not use personal information for any purpose other than the previously clarified purpose of use. FIA does not disclose any personal information to a third party.
However, FIA may disclose personal information in exceptional cases to a third party as noted below:

  • 1. In the case that FIA is directed in response to law enforcement.
  • 2. In the case that an individual agrees for FIA to disclose information.
  • 3. In the case that FIA has already noticed a person has agreed upon the release of information to a third party.
  • 4. In the case that a contract for the consignment of operations with specified and obligating confidentiality rules are agreed upon, FIA may disclose the limited/necessary information within the bounds/restrictions of the contract.

Handling of Personal Information

FIA handles personal information under appropriate management, and shall take necessary and proper measures for the prevention of leakage, loss, damage, and/or illegal access to personal information, and for other security controls of the personal data. FIA takes prompt remedial action if such a case occurs.

Confidential Personal Information Policy and Disclosure

In case an individual requests a disclosure in writing, FIA agrees to disclose personal information after identifying that individual, and if the given request is appropriate.
FIA gives prompt correction if any inappropriate resulting contact is addressed for personal information disclosure.

Compliance with Applicable Laws

Regulations and Other Rules Compliance with Applicable Laws, Regulations and Other Rules FIA complies with the laws of Japan in the handling of personal information.
FIA maintains regulation on all personal information handling, inspects operational status periodically, and reviews this in a continued basis for improvement.
